Real time CO2 monitor for freshwater aquariums
Plants require a plentiful supply of carbon dioxide (CO2) during daylight hours to photosynthesise and grow. In a planted aquarium the natural level of CO2 is insufficient to maintain plant health and therefore CO2 must be added. Too much CO2 can reduce the pH to levels that are stressful for fish and therefore the CO2 level should always be monitored.
The Red Sea CO2 Indicator gives an easy-to-read, continuous, qualitative visual indication of the current CO2 level in a freshwater aquarium. Set up and install the indicator as described and simply compare the color of the liquid in the indicator to the integrated color scale.
